ALEGRIAS Choreography (Intermediate level)

This mixed-level class requires participants to have prior experience in flamenco and knowledge of basic footwork, arm movements, turns, and hand coordination. Throughout the course, we will focus on improving posture, lines, fluidity, speed, stamina, and overall technique while learning and mastering choreography for the "palo" of Alegrías (12-count compás). Emphasis will be placed on understanding the musical structure as well as developing the ability to express the mood and style of the Alegrías dance.

FLAMENCO BASICS I - Introduction to Flamenco
TIME: 19:00-20:00
PLACE: Danscentrum Syd, Bergsgatan 29
This class is designed for students who have never practiced flamenco before or have only taken a few classes. Participants will focus on the fundamental coordination of hands and arms, as well as the basics of footwork. Flamenco shoes are necessary for this class; while it’s acceptable not to have them for the first few sessions, investing in a pair is essential if you wish to continue your flamenco journey.

Join me for the Intermediate/Advanced Level Technique class followed by the Advanced Level Choreography course featuring ‘Farruca’.
The Advanced Level Choreography course spans one year and will introduce a new ‘Farruca’ starting in September, concluding in the Spring course of 2026. This class is designed for students with several years of prior experience, and participants should be prepared for a fast-paced environment and take personal responsibility for their progress. Expect the most challenging level, with choreographic material that places higher demands on participants, making it ideal for those looking to challenge themselves and tackle more complex technical and choreographic elements.

Flamenco Kids - Beginners level

Flamenco Kids class for beginners introduces young dancers to the enchanting world of flamenco, where they will explore rhythm, movement, and basic flamenco steps in a fun and supportive environment. Through games, music and discipline children will connect with the rich culture of flamenco while enhancing their body awareness, musicality, and confidence. No prior experience is necessary—just bring enthusiasm and a love for dance!

Flamenco Kids - Intermediate Level

Age group: 8 years and older
Flamenco Kids intermediate is designed for children aged 8 years and older with a minimum of 2 years of flamenco experience. In this class, young dancers will continue to explore the art of flamenco by deepening their understanding of the 12-count compás and progressing in their learning of Sevillanas with 20 minutes dedicated to this traditional dance form. The class will focus on building discipline and coordination to create a strong foundation in movement enhancing musicality and connecting through rhythm; practicing both simple and complex footwork patterns. These fun, energetic, and creative classes are designed to inspire young dancers and cultivate their passion for flamenco!

FLAMENCO TECHNIQUE: Mixed Level (Intermediate)

This class is perfect for students with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in choreography, as well as those who have danced for many years and wish to focus on foundational exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills, enhance movement quality, and express themselves more fully. Expect a focus on upper body technique, footwork, rhythm and palmas, turns, and brief choreography phrases in both 4 and 12 count "compás." Join for an enriching experience that balances technique and expression!

FLAMENCO BASICS II

This course is designed for students with 3-4 semesters of prior knowledge and serves as a continuation of the Tuesday Introduction to Flamenco course. Participants will further develop their footwork and body technique within the 4 or 12 count "compás." Flamenco shoes are necessary for this class. Join me to enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of flamenco!
